Prof. Felix Mayer and the Symphonic Ensemble Munich
Professor Mayer began his musical education
as a soloist with the „Hymnus Boy’s
Choir“ in Stuttgart. Additional to his music
studies Felix Mayer frequented master
courses at the International Bach Academy
Stuttgart under Helmut Rilling, also
at the Music-University in Vienna and
the Vienna-Music-Seminar (with special
distinction) under Nikolaus Harnoncourt,
Daniel Harding, and Professor Mark Stringer. In February 2012 Felix Mayer conducted
for the first time the Münchner Philharmoniker. He worked as an assistant for Lorin
Maazel and Valery Gergiev.
The Symphonic Ensemble Munich is a symphony orchestra consisting of ambitious amateur-musicians that exists now for more than twenty years. They gave many inspiring performances in and around Munich and even worldwide. The Symphonic Ensemble Munich gives performances of baroque music, plays the big classical repertoire and even inaugurates premiers of contemporary compositions.
